Photo restoration is the process of recovering a damaged image. Typically, this is from a print that has faded, been torn, bent or scratched. Where required, missing information is put back into the picture, colours are enhanced, scratches are repaired and so on. A new digital image is provided. In some cases restoration involves the colour correction/balance of a digital image in order to be printed.
